i am an artist in a playground exploring seemingly disparate concepts and theories; a place to examine their differences and their similarities, indeed their very essences.
here is a selection of my newest work.
i use art to tell a story. i make it to tell a silly tale, to express personality, to reveal a facet of our humanity.
my films: "vegetables" and "pictures."
a series of creatures that just want to be loved.
combining two different animals to make intriguing new creatures.
mostly life drawing.
character badges for games.
photographs of what i see that capture how i view the world.
an alphabet book that plays with space and teases the mind.
illustrations created with photoshop, illustrator, watercolor, and pencil.
printed and web materials i created for zÿn yoga studio.
sometimes i make art and the paper talks to me. i listen and something deep inside come out. form reveals itself, expressing the story.
i started these with a song and a ritual.
i developed these as an expression of my own power.
i combine the exquisite beauty that is in nature and spirituality.
in these i let the watercolors speak for themselves and elevated them with ink.
art has always been my passion. i've been drawing one thing or another ever since i could hold a pencil. i see the world with lines around everything. it's as natural as breathing to me.
someone once wrote to me, "anything that increases the collective mirth and fun is surely a balm to society and therefore a vital ingredient to peace and joy in the world." art fills me with hope that there is a possibility for this.
i received my bfa in drawing and painting from alfred university. i received a graduate certificate from burren college of art - nui galway. i completed classical/3d animation program at vancouver film school.
i worked for two years in a professional sign shop creating hand made signs out of paint, chalk, markers,
and colored pencil.
i was the designer for
zÿn yoga studio, creating signs, brochures, and newspaper ads. i have been in juried art exhibits and artists' markets.
